Chinese, French, German and American Experts Look Forward to the Era of Intelligent Manufacturing--Human-Computer Collaboration is the Trend
The intelligentization of the manufacturing industry begins with the upgrading of production machines, while the major focus is the upgrading of talents. On October 12, the theme dialogue of 2018WIMS ‘Empowering Intelligent Manufacturing through Organizational Innovation and Talent Cultivation’ was held in the Nanjing International Expo Conference Center. Many experts from China, Japan, Germany and the United States shared their experience on the talent strategies in the era of intelligent manufacturing.
David A. Vasko, director of Advanced Technology and Strategy Development of Rock Well Automation Co., Ltd, made clear that intelligent manufacturing would never replace human being. ‘The trend of intelligent manufacturing is human-computer collaboration, where humans and robots work together. Such a cooperative approach would be more efficient than humans or robots working alone. This puts a higher and higher demand on talent.’
So what kind of people does intelligent manufacturing need? ‘In the future, all kinds of technologies will be integrated, and 85% of the jobs will be changed or even disappear. Employees need to keep learning to adapt to new technologies and jobs,’ David said. At the same time, higher requirements are put forward for the innovation of talents. No matter the decision-making level of the enterprise or the front-line technical workers, every employee needs to innovate and adapt to the development speed of the changing times, and talent cultivation will be a serious challenge.
Gu Jiandang, president of Phoenix Contact in China, believes that the key to transforming human resources into industrial advantages lies in the integration of production, education and research. To push enterprises to carry out digital transformation, the biggest bottleneck is the talent in related fields. This requires a comprehensive talent strategy plan to strengthen the deep integration of production, education and research. In this regard, Nanjing has a unique advantage in universities. Meanwhile, Nanjing will give better play to its talent advantages by continuously investing in innovative resources.
